What is the photofacial light treatment?
The photofacial light treatment uses IPL technology (intense pulsed light) to remove unwanted brown spots, broken blood vessels and sun damage from your skin. The treatment is ideal for clients with active lifestyles because the procedure requires no downtime and has a low risk of side effects. Light-years beyond other facial devices, the IPL's broad spectrum light treats the face, chest, neck and hands --anywhere that sun damage shows.
How long does the photofacial light treatment take?
A photofacial is a 30-minute procedure in which pulses of light are applied to the surface of the skin through a small handpiece.
What are the benefits of the photofacial light treatment?
The photofacial light treatment is a proven, safe and effective skin rejuvenation treatment. It offers significant improvement for your skin's color and tone. Using the power of therapeutic light, the photofacial treatment fades or removes unwanted brown and red pigment from your skin. In addition, the deep penetrating therapeutic light stimulates new collagen growth which reduces age lines.
What areas can the IPL Photofacial be used to treat?
The photofacial light treatment can be used on the face and body. A photofacial is used to treat redness caused by acne, Rosacea, hyperpigmentation, and facial veins, as well as the fine lines and wrinkles caused by aging or sun damage. And if your skin has been discolored as a result of smoking, alcohol use, or hormonal changes, an IPL photo facial can smooth and refine your complexion. However, certain factors, including dark or deeply tanned skin, may make certain people ineligible for IPL.
When will I see results after my photofacial light treatment?
Even though you will notice some visible change in your skin immediately after the treatment, most benefits of a photofacial occur gradually in the next 7-14 days.
How many treatments do I need?
This depends entirely on the severity of the skin condition(s) that we are treating. It is possible to remove years worth of sun damage in just a few treatments. The average person requires 1-4 treatments for best results. Photofacial treatments are usually scheduled two weeks apart.

Does a photofacial light treatment hurt?
The procedure involves only minimal discomfort and the majority of clients tolerate it very well. Numbing cream may be available for those who need it.
What can I expect after the treatment?
Immediately following your photofacial treatment, it is common for your brown pigment to be slightly darker then it was before the treatment. The brown spots will fade or fall off within the next week or so. Mild, temporary redness lasting a short time may also occur. Occasional puffiness under the eyes sometimes occurs and disappears a short time afterwards. Makeup can be used following the treatment. The majority of clients will NOT experience any downtime.
What will I look like after the treatment?
Individual response to treatment varies. For example, the severity of a client's sun damage may determine how strongly they react. This will be discussed with your laser practitioner BEFORE treatment. Listed are a few sample photos of clients who have posted their pictures on the internet to demonstrate what you MIGHT look like afterwards. The treatment is completely customizable in terms of energy level and your desired short-term and long-term results. NOTE: most post-treatment reactions resolve within 7 days. Make-up can usually be worn the same or next day.
Who is NOT a candidate for the photofacial light treatment?
*Pregnant women
*Clients with light-sensitive disorders
*Clients who suffer light-induced seizures
*Anyone who has recently been sun-tanning (3 weeks before treatment)
*Clients on medications with sunlight exposure warnings (Accutane, Tetracycline, etc)
